IET Faraday Challenge 2019

IET Faraday Challenge 2019

We are pleased to announce that we have secured a Faraday Challenge Day from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on Wednesday 30 January 2019. The event will be held at Anglia Ruskin University.

We now need six schools to take part, each of which will submit a team of six year 8 students, and are offering schools the chance to register.

If you are interested, please contact us as soon as possible. Spaces will be offered on a first come, first-served basis, and schools must be able to guarantee their attendance.

All the 36 students taking part need to be 12-13 years old.

The event is completely free to UK schools. The IET's team of STEM professionals will bring everything with them that your students will need to complete the challenge with us.

The challenge will be based around the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and aims to engage young people in the engineering challenges associated with the James Webb Space Telescope. Students will gain an understanding and appreciation for various engineering disciplines, alongside a wider understanding of the mission of the JWST.

The winning team from each event will take home an Amazon voucher for themselves as well as gaining a place on the league table. The top five teams at the end of the season will go forward into the National Final in July 2019, where they will be treated to an all-expenses-paid trip to the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh, as well as have the chance of taking home £1,000 for their school to spend on STEM activities!

Please contact us to register your interest.
