A Brief History of Electromagnets

A Brief History of Electromagnets

Speaker: Dr R Chippendale (Technical Manager, Comsol UK)

Our understanding of this phenomena is the result of work by many famous scientists including Faraday, Franklin and Heaviside. This talk will introduce the basic concepts and contributions from these great names and also how Maxwell developed his famous equations. From these foundations and the advent of computers, numerical simulation tools allow us to visualise these electromagnetic fields for investigation and optimisation of designs.

An IET lecture for the public: attendance is free and open to all (no reservation required).

Refreshments will be available before the talk from 18:00.
