The Sticky Business

Adhesive bonding is widely used in a host of applications ranging from the humble cereal packet to wide-bodied jet aircraft. Adhesion is also critically important to the performance of organic coatings and polymer matrix composite materials. This talk will describe how modern advanced surface analysis methods can be used to unravel the characteristics of this vanishingly thin region.
