CSES AGM (2020) and Centenary – 100 Years of Science and Engineering

Please join us for our 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and centenary celebration.

These are exciting times, and we have lots of plans as Essex 2020 draws to a close and we enter our centenary year. We're eager to share these with you, so, as the presidency hands over, we will be launching our vision and strategy for 2020+.

We will also be looking back at the last year – which has certainly been interesting for more reasons than originally thought! – and explaining what comes immediately next for CSES.

This is alongside the usual formalities such as electing the Council of trustees for the coming year and presenting the annual accounts.

Once the AGM itself is concluded, our Treasurer, Anthony McQuiggan, will be presenting 100 Years of Science and Engineering, telling the story of CSES since its inception in 1920. The talk will also look at the evolution of Chelmsford and Essex's industrial heritage over the last century, and pick out some notable (and not so notable but probably should be!) individuals from our local history.

This talk follows on from Anthony's excellent 15-minute version at our Birthday Centenary Event in October 2020, which brought us from Roman times up to 1920 – or thereabouts – and for which a video will be available soon if you missed it.

The event is OPEN TO ALL: members and non-members alike. This is because we want to share our future plans with as many people as possible, as we strengthen and grow our network, and because we know that Anthony's talk will interest many who may not be formal members of the Society.

Note that only members may vote on AGM resolutions, however, and we will be asking for the names of anyone who does so.
