We are pleased to advise that our very own Roger Pittock will be delivering the 2021 version of his ever-popular talk on deep sky and eclipse imaging for the Chelmsford U3A Science Group (University of the Third Age).

Together Roger and June Pittock have been chasing solar eclipses for 15 years and deep sky imaging from their home for more than 25 years.

The presentation will go over some basic astronomy facts, look at the different techniques required for deep sky imaging and solar eclipse imaging, explore techniques and equipment for both, and if there's time, show a video that they took during the 2006 eclipse in Egypt.

Roger's background and main love is technology – he was an engineer of many disciplines from graduation in 1978 until retiring in 2015. June has had a lifelong interest in astronomy since seeing a prolific meteor shower in the 1960s.
