Exploring Waterways with Ignite Chelmsford and CSES

Navigating the personal, digital and ecological through memories, bodies and stories.

Exploring Waterways

A creative conversation with Sian Fan, Dr Lisa Blackmore and Lora Aziz

Hosted by Dr Katie Deverell (Cultural Partnerships Manager, Chelmsford City Council) and CSES

This special one-off event brings together three inspiring women to talk about their different, yet related, creative projects exploring our relationships with water, nature and the local environment.

We will hear about their work and their practice, how they are integrating digital technology with fine grained local knowledge and experiences and what this can teach us about ourselves, our identities and communities.

Through a warm conversation we will meander our way through topics such as:

  • The power of nature based art and creativity
  • The importance of journeys and movement
  • Reflecting diverse voices and stories
  • The possibilities, rewards and limits of digital
  • Locally based art and the personal dimension
  • Connecting the hyperlocal to international/universal experiences
  • The importance of the waterways to Chelmsford

This will be followed by a Live Q+A where we invite you to join the conversation.

The link to join will be sent via email after registration.
